FAQ
-
What is artistic portrait photography?
Artistic portrait photography goes beyond simply taking a nice picture. It’s a guided process that helps you connect with yourself, reflect, and feel present before and during the session. The result is not only a portrait that looks like you, but one that feels like you.
As your photographer, I make intentional aesthetic and stylistic choices — considering light, atmosphere, mood, composition, and visual storytelling — so that your portraits carry both beauty and emotional depth.
-
What makes your sessions different from a regular photo shoot?
Unlike traditional portrait sessions, I guide you through reflections, prompts, and creative activities before we even begin shooting. This process allows you to arrive more authentically, so your portraits capture not just your appearance, but your presence, emotion, and soul.
-
Do you use tarot or astrology in the process?
Tarot and astrology are offered only as optional reflective tools, if you choose to include them. They are used symbolically — as prompts for conversation, insight, and creative reflection.
I am not a professional tarot reader or astrologer. These tools are never predictive and are always optional.
-
How long does a portrait session take?
The actual portrait session lasts between 25 and 45 minutes. We also allow time for a pre-session chat so you feel comfortable and grounded before the camera comes out.
-
How do I book a session?
You can book directly through the Bookings page on my website. Once you book, you’ll receive a welcome email and a short reflective questionnaire to begin shaping your session.
-

Do I get digital images and prints?
Yes. Every package includes high-resolution digital images delivered via a private online gallery. Fine art prints (8x10) and additional digital files are available as add-ons.
-
How should I prepare for my session?
After booking, you’ll receive a welcome email and a short reflective questionnaire to begin shaping your session. Then, we’ll begin with an intentional session via email and then a pre-session consultation (in person or online).
Depending on the portrait type you choose, this may include journaling, written reflections, or simple creative exercises. These steps help you arrive feeling grounded and present — you don’t need to prepare anything else.

What should I wear?
Wear something that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself.
It can be simple or expressive — soft or bold — there’s no right or wrong.
If you’d like guidance, I’m happy to offer suggestions during our consultation. -
Where do the photo sessions take place?
I work primarily with natural light, often outdoors or in environments connected to nature — such as parks, coastal areas, or wooded spaces.
Indoor sessions are also available, either in chosen locations or rented studios (subject to availability and additional cost).
-
Are these portraits edited or retouched?
Yes, your images are carefully edited for light, tone, and cohesion.
I aim to honour your natural presence rather than erase or over-retouch. -
Is this therapy?
No. While many people describe the experience as meaningful or emotional, these sessions are creative and reflective, not therapeutic or clinical.
